So, who are you?

Ok now that the looks are out of the way... I'm just one person who's been through the product building wringer more times than I can count. I've worked at large companies that have been around for decades, helped scale startups to unicorn status, and everything in between. I've shipped stuff nobody wanted, ignored feedback I shouldn't have, and learned a lot of lessons the hard way. Now I'm building lube to help others skip some of that pain.

Why "lube"?

Because building products has too much friction. I want to make things smoother. Also, it makes people smile. And if you can't have a little fun while building a company, what's the point?

I want lube to be the most fun enterprise company in the world. Bold claim, I know. But why not aim for it?

It also just gets the awkward part over with. Once you've talked about lube, what else can't you talk about? Ice = broken. =P

Also maybe I'm overcompensating for the fact that people used to always ask me "why so serious?" haha.

What do you believe in?

One of the best feelings in the world is seeing you've made a positive impact on someone's life. Whether that's building products that help them with their problems or something else entirely.

That most roadmaps are just educated guesses. That things should be fun, not soul-crushing.

We spend more time with our colleagues than our families, so why treat them like strangers and send formal messages? Proud sender of emojis and hahas in work and customer emails for the past 10 years.

Are you VC backed?

Nope. Thankfully our capex isn't crazy high, so we can get away with it.

The plan is to bootstrap for as long as possible. That way we can make our own decisions and not chase whatever trend is hot this week. You know, like AI. Wait...
